Being A Responsible Host

This Service IQ course, Being a Responsible Host, is for people who work in the hospitality sector in
New Zealand, particularly in establishments that serve alcohol.

When you work in hospitality, you have a legal responsibility to prevent your customers from becoming intoxicated. This means that if your role is one of the team serving alcohol in your establishment, you have responsibilities to:
Your community to protect people in the community from being harmed by intoxicated customers.
Your customers to prevent them harming themselves from consuming too much alcohol.
Your establishment to ensure your establishment operates within the law yourself to ensure you operate within the law and maintain your own safety.

This Service IQ course provides some simple guidelines about what you're required to do to reduce or prevent intoxication and advice on how to stay inside the law when you're behind the bar.
