Aussie dairy products to hit NZ supermarkets

An Australian dairy company wants to sell its goods in New Zealand supermarkets, in direct competition to local suppliers.

Parmalat is talking with the owners of Countdown supermarkets, and they're not the only ones.

More Aussie-made yoghurt and custard products could soon be hitting Kiwi supermarket shelves. Progressive Enterprises has told RadioLIVE Parmalat is approaching Kiwi retailers about selling its range here.

Federated Farmers dairy chairperson Willy Leferink is questioning the timing of that news.
